This is a Chevy 261 engine with an 848 head that has had a total rebuild and includes all of the accessories to make it a complete engine ready to install in your vehicle. It was custom built for a 1957 panel truck project that went a different direction.
Jan 29, 2012 · Its a 261 straight six bored .080 over to make it 270 or a 4.4L. Ive got a Offenhauser dual intake manifold on it and Fenton cast Iron headers. There's a slightly hopped up cam in it but this motor is being built for torque not speed.
Aug 18, 2010 · it depends on what kind of carb you have. the pump could be working but activating to late. check this first. take the air cleaner off and move the linkage a little. the pump should start to squirt gas down the carb. move the linkage fast and see if a good stream is shot down the carb. if not the pump is bad. if the pump is good you may need to adjust the "rod".
